Practical Info

Weather & Preparation
Yorkshire’s weather is famously changeable, often delivering four seasons in a single afternoon. We always recommend layering your clothing and carrying a packable waterproof shell, even if the morning sky is clear and blue. Check local forecasts like the Met Office precisely for the Dales or Moors, as valley conditions can differ significantly from the high ridges. Being prepared ensures you stay comfortable through every climb and descent.
Travel & Arrival
Our tours are designed to be accessible. Most journeys begin from major rail hubs such as York, Malton, or Scarborough. If you're bringing your own bike, remember that UK trains typically require a free bicycle reservation made in advance. For those arriving by car, we provide detailed arrival instructions, including GPS coordinates and meeting points, will be sent to you exactly two weeks before your tour.
Cycling Safety
Safety is our top priority that's the reason we provide fully insured guided tours. All riders must wear a certified cycling helmet and follow the instructions of our lead guides. Before we set off, we conduct a brief group session to cover riding formations and hand signals. While our guides carry mechanical tools and first aid supplies, we encourage riders to carry a spare inner tube and basic multi-tool. Having a well-maintained bike and a sense of self-sufficiency adds to the confidence of the group.
The Countryside Code
We ride through working landscapes and protected national parks. It is essential to respect the local community by closing all gates after passing and giving way to horse riders and walkers with a friendly 'hello.' By staying on designated bridleways and gravel tracks, we protect the fragile peat and heather ecosystems that make Yorkshire so special. Leave no trace, and keep the wild beauty of the moors exactly as you found it.
